Social Media Data Deletion
Last updated 26 August 2026
Lexaren lets users connect Facebook and other social media accounts or pages so they can publish article links to destinations they select. This page explains how to remove a social media connection and request deletion of the data associated with that connection.
Disconnect Facebook from Lexaren
When you can sign in to your Lexaren account:
- Open Account settings.
- Select Social media.
- Find Facebook and select Disconnect.
- Confirm that you want to disconnect the account.
What happens when you disconnect
- Lexaren removes the usable Facebook authorization credentials from the active connection.
- The Facebook connection is marked disconnected, and its saved Pages are no longer available for future publishing from Lexaren.
- Lexaren cannot publish through that connection again unless you reconnect Facebook.
Basic connection details, saved destination details, and publication history may remain in Lexaren so the account can show what happened previously. They are not treated as an active publishing connection. Disconnecting is therefore not the same as deleting your complete Lexaren account or all of its data.
Disconnecting inside Lexaren does not currently send a separate revocation request to Meta. If you also want to remove Lexaren's authorization within Facebook, remove Lexaren from Facebook's Business Integrations settings.
Posts already published to Facebook
Disconnecting Facebook from Lexaren does not delete posts that were already published to Facebook. To remove an existing post, delete it directly from the Facebook Page or account where it was published.
Request deletion if you cannot sign in
If you cannot access your Lexaren account, email nima@lexaren.com and ask us to delete your social media connection data. When possible, write from the email address associated with your Lexaren account and identify the provider you connected. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before processing the request.
Deletion requests are processed as soon as reasonably possible. If you also want your Lexaren account and reports deleted, say so explicitly because that is a separate, broader request.
